Your HP Pavilion 15.6 Inch Laptop PC 15-Eh1000 (2H5A7AV), according to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07012038.pdf, requires this battery with p/n: L97300-005 "3CELL BATTERY 41Wh 3.72Ah LI HW03XL".
Unless your battery is less than 3~4 years old, it is almost certain that you'll need a new battery.
There is a slim chance that your AC charger is defective, but you can easily rule that out by removing the battery (search on YouTube how to do that) and observing if the charger supports powering up your laptop.
