Hi @M-Bilal_44,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it must be to experience freezing issues on a brand-new laptop, especially when it interrupts both work and gaming. Let's address the problem step by step to identify the cause and resolve it.
Possible Causes
Software conflicts or outdated drivers
Drivers or background processes could cause freezing if they are outdated or incompatible.
Thermal throttling
Overheating can lead to momentary freezes as the system reduces performance to cool down.
Memory or storage issues
Faulty RAM or storage drive issues can cause system lags.
Corrupted system files
System integrity problems may lead to occasional freezes.
BIOS or firmware issues
An outdated BIOS can lead to hardware compatibility issues.
Steps to Troubleshoot
1. Update Windows and Drivers
- Windows Update:
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and ensure all updates are installed. - HP Support Assistant:HP Support Assistant
Open the HP Support Assistant app to check for and install the latest drivers for your laptop.
(Download here if you don’t have it installed.) - Graphics Drivers:
Update both the integrated and discrete GPU drivers (AMD/NVIDIA) through their respective software (AMD Adrenalin/NVIDIA GeForce Experience).
2. Check for Overheating Clean the Air Vents in HP Notebooks | HP Notebooks | HP
- Ensure the cooling vents are clear of dust and the laptop is on a flat surface for proper ventilation.
3. Run Diagnostics HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures
- Restart your laptop and press F2 during startup to open HP’s diagnostics menu.
- Run a System Test to check for hardware issues, focusing on memory and storage tests.
4. Check Task Manager During Freeze
- After a freeze resolves, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Look for high CPU, Disk, or Memory usage and identify the process causing spikes.
5. Disable Unnecessary Startup Programs
- Open Task Manager, go to the Startup tab, and disable unnecessary programs.
6. Scan for Corrupted Files
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run: sfc /scannow
- If issues are detected, follow the repair instructions.
7. Update BIOS
- Visit the HP Drivers & Software page, search for your laptop model, and check for BIOS updates.
- Follow the instructions to update the BIOS safely.
8. Reset or Reinstall Windows (if necessary)
- If the problem persists, consider resetting Windows:
Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC. - Choose "Keep my files" to avoid data loss.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
