Hi @sunilghule
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP Notebook 15s-du1052tu is struggling with performance and driver updates. Let's go through some steps to speed things up and resolve the update issue.
Step 1: Free Up System Resources
- Close unnecessary programs – Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and end tasks that are using too much CPU or memory.
- Disable startup programs – In Task Manager, go to the Startup tab and disable non-essential apps.
Step 2: Check for Windows Updates
- Open Settings > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any pending updates.
- Restart your laptop after installation.
Step 3: Update Drivers Manually
- Open Device Manager (Windows + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Display Adapters, Network Adapters, and Other Devices.
- Right-click each device and select Update Driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
Step 4: Run HP Support Assistant
- Download and install HP Support Assistant from HP’s official site.
- Open the app and check for driver updates.
- Install recommended updates and restart your laptop.
Step 5: Perform a Disk Cleanup
- Open File Explorer and right-click C: Drive.
- Select Properties > Disk Cleanup.
- Check Temporary Files, System Files, and Recycle Bin, then click OK.
Step 6: Check for Hard Drive Issues
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator (Windows + X > Command Prompt (Admin)).
- Type:
chkdsk /f /r - Press Enter and restart your laptop.
Step 7: Consider a Reset
If performance issues persist, you may need to reset Windows:
- Open Settings > Recovery.
- Select Reset this PC and choose Keep my files or Remove everything.
Let me know how it goes! 😊
