Hi @amanavenger,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your laptop might be experiencing overheating issues. Gaming can put a heavy load on your system, causing it to generate a lot of heat. When a laptop gets too hot, it can automatically shut down to prevent damage to the internal components.

Here are some steps you can take to address this issue.

  • Check Ventilation: Ensure that your laptop has proper ventilation. Make sure the air vents are not blocked by anything, such as fabric or dust. If they are, use compressed air to carefully clean them out.
  • Use a Cooling Pad: Investing in a cooling pad can help dissipate heat from your laptop. These pads usually have fans that help improve airflow, keeping your system cooler during gaming sessions.
  • Update Drivers: Make sure all your drivers, especially graphics card drivers, are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause performance issues or overheating problems.
  • Lower Graphics Settings: Try lowering the graphics settings in your games. Running games at lower graphics settings reduces the strain on your system, resulting in less heat generation.
  • Monitor Temperatures: Use software like HWMonitor or SpeedFan to monitor the temperatures of your CPU and GPU while gaming. If they are consistently reaching unsafe levels (usually above 90°C), then overheating is likely the issue.
  • Check for Background Processes: Close any unnecessary programs or background processes that might be consuming CPU resources while gaming. This can help reduce the overall heat generated by your system.

By following these steps, you should be able to mitigate the overheating issue and enjoy uninterrupted gaming sessions on your new laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
