@rishab_negi, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP laptop is experiencing a power or battery-related issue. Here are some possible reasons and steps you can take to troubleshoot:

Possible Causes

Battery is failing or degraded

  • If the battery can’t hold a charge, the laptop may shut down when not plugged in.

Battery is completely drained

  • Some laptops won’t power on until they receive a minimum charge.

Power management settings or BIOS issues

  • Incorrect settings or outdated BIOS can cause unexpected shutdowns.

Overheating

  • If the laptop overheats, it may shut down to protect internal components.

Hardware issues (e.g., motherboard or charging circuit)

  • Less common, but possible if the laptop only works when plugged in.

What You Can Try

Battery Health Check

  • Use HP’s built-in diagnostics:
    • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
    • Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
    • Run the Battery Test.

Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Visit HP Support and enter your laptop model.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers.

Check Power Settings

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Make sure settings aren’t set to shut down on low battery too early.

Inspect the Battery

  • If it’s removable, try reseating it.
  • If not, consider having it checked or replaced by a technician.

Monitor for Overheating

  • Use tools like HWMonitor or Core Temp to check temperatures.
  • Clean vents and fans if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
