Hi @ELITEJOJI,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A recovery issue on your HP Pavilion Gaming - 15 can indicate a problem with the Windows boot files or the hard drive itself. Here’s how to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Understand the Error Message

  • Take note of the error code or description (e.g., 0xc0000225, 0xc000000f, etc.).
  • This information can help determine whether the issue is related to corrupted files, missing boot data, or a hardware failure.

Access the Advanced Startup Options

  • Restart your PC and press F11 repeatedly during boot to access the Recovery menu.
  • If this doesn’t work, use a bootable Windows installation media (USB drive).

Use the Automatic Repair Tool

  • From the Recovery menu:
    1. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.
    2. Follow the prompts to let Windows diagnose and fix boot problems.

Check Disk Health

  • Boot to the Recovery menu and select Command Prompt.
  • Run the following command to check for disk errors:

chkdsk /f /r C:

  • Replace C: with the appropriate drive letter if Windows is installed on a different partition.

Rebuild the Boot Configuration Data (BCD)

  • In the Command Prompt, type the following commands:

bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd

  • If prompted, select Y to confirm any changes.

Restore Windows

  • System Restore:
    • From Troubleshoot > Advanced Options, select System Restore and choose a restore point if available.
  • Reset This PC:
    • Go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC. Choose to keep or remove personal files, depending on your preference.

Perform a Fresh Install of Windows

  • If none of the above steps work:
    1. Create a bootable USB with the Windows Media Creation Tool.
    2. Boot from the USB and perform a fresh installation of Windows.
    3. Backup your files if possible before proceeding.

Check for Hardware Issues

  • If the error persists, test your hardware:
    • Hard Drive Test: Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool (access by pressing F2 during startup).
    • Memory Test: Run a memory check to rule out RAM issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
