I have HP Envy 4502.  Love this printer.  All of a sudden I could not print from emails online.  I think something like spooler came up.  I could print out a test from the computer.  It is connected manually not WI-FI.

Hi @ilejan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Envy 4502 printer is working for basic tasks (like test prints), but you're having trouble printing from emails, possibly due to a print spooler issue. The print spooler is a Windows service that manages print jobs, and if it crashes or gets stuck, it can prevent printing from certain applications.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and hopefully fix the issue:

1. Restart the Print Spooler Service

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll down to Print Spooler.
  3. Right-click it and choose Restart.
  4. Try printing from your email again.

2. Clear the Print Spooler Queue

  1. Open the Services window again (services.msc).
  2. Stop the Print Spooler service.
  3. Navigate to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
  4. Delete all files in this folder (they are just stuck print jobs).
  5. Start the Print Spooler service again.

3. Try Printing from a Different Browser

If you're printing emails from a web browser (like Chrome, Edge, or Firefox), try switching to another browser. Sometimes browser-specific issues can interfere with printing.

4. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  1. Go to Device Manager.
  2. Find your printer under Printers.
  3. Right-click and choose Update driver.
  4. Or go to HP’s official support site and download the latest driver for the HP Envy 4502.

5. Run the Windows Printer Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click Manage.
  3. Click Run the troubleshooter.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
