Microsoft Windows 11
  • I just wanted to ask a question.  Is the new HP 14" Windows 11 Home in S Mode, with an Intel Celeron Processor compatible with Kernel Mode Hardware Enforced Stacked Protection?

Hi @keat1, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection is a security feature in Windows 11 designed to prevent malicious programs from exploiting low-level drivers. To utilize this feature, your system must meet specific hardware and software prerequisites:

Operating System: Windows 11 2022 update or newer.

Processor Support: A CPU that supports Intel Control-flow Enforcement Technology (CET) or AMD Shadow Stacks. For Intel, this includes 11th Gen Intel Core Mobile processors and newer.

Security Features: Virtualization-based security (VBS) and Hypervisor-enforced code integrity (HVCI) must be enabled.

The HP 14" laptop you're referring to is equipped with an Intel Celeron processor. As of now, Intel Celeron processors do not support Control-flow Enforcement Technology (CET). Therefore, this device would not be compatible with Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection.

For a comprehensive understanding of this feature and its requirements, you can refer to Microsoft's official documentation

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
