Hello,
I purchased this HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook Product number MOU20AV(from bios).
I came with windows 10 and I found that that operating system was onerous.
I changed the bios to legacy and installed a valid copy of windows 7.
After installation, there were no drviers installed. No network , no USB.
I obtained an windows 7 ISO from Microsoft and burned a CD, using a different machine.
Same problem, no drivers.
What I need is network drivers I suppose then I can get everything else by downloading.
I saw another post that listed about 50 files but was very confused as to which ones I might need.
Thanks for any help.
Michael

Hi, Michael:
Because that is a configured to order (CTO) model, HP does not provide any specifications.
Also, there can be one of several different model wlan cards installed based on who bought the notebook had it configured.
Here is the link to the W7 ethernet driver...
This package provides the driver for the Realtek Ethernet Controller in the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74233.exe
Please post the hardware ID for the device you see listed in the device manager labeled as a Network Controller.
That is the wireless card that needs a driver.
To find the hardware ID, click on the Network Controller device.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller device window.
Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Hi Paul,
There is no network device.
There is a list of devices under other devices including
Ethernet controller x2
USB controller
and lots of others.
Under the network controller properties Details tab, there is nothing.

Hi:
Your notebook has a Broadcom single band wireless card.
See if these wifi and bluetooth drivers work...
The package contains the Broadcom wireless LAN drivers and utility that are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter in supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.
File name: sp72879.exe
This package contains the Broadcom Bluetooth driver and software for supported models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver is required to enable Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 devices and is compatible with Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 and earlier versions.
File name: sp73091.exe
Didn't the ethernet driver I first posted work? It should have.
USB: Download, unzip and run the setup.exe file from the link below...

Hi Paul,
I did install SP74233.exe and rebooted but no joy.
What I see is a computer terminal with a red X through it on the icon bar.
I then installed SP72879.exe and rebooted.
I now see the wireless bars with red X.
The machine does not detect any wireless networks and there are several
around here including my own about five feet away.
Regards,
Michael

Hi, Michael:
Sorry that none of those drivers are working.
There are about 4 or 5 of them for the same model card, so I don't know exactly which one you need.
The other thing that has been happening is if you install the wrong one, then you have to keep reinstalling the operating system and try others.
