Hello @Solleti
Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.
If you have created production or test virtual machines and if you don't want to risk loosing them, copy them from C:\Users\~username~\
Move them to some other folder on your PC
Uninstall VMWare software
Restart your computer
Restore the computer to a previous system state before VMWare has been installed.
Please, perform System Restore in an attempt to fix the issue. Please, restore back to previous days (restore point) where the issue was not present.
System Restore is a way to undo system changes by using restore points to return your system files and settings to an earlier point in time without affecting personal files of users. System Restore uses a feature called system protection that regularly creates and saves information about your PC's drivers, programs, registry, system files, and settings as restore points.
Here is more info:

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. Provide your feedback/reply.
If the issue is fixed, you can eventually try reinstalling VMWare software and move the VM files

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Riddle_Decipher is at your service.
As I Understand the notification bar isn't working since you installed VMware on your PC,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you know that HP doesn't support virtualization or VM Ware software? basically, any support related to such 3rd party Softwares are directed to their manufacturers.
That said, I recommend you attempt a system restore to an earlier date before the software was installed as it should resolve the issue,
If you simply want to disable the action center, you could attempt the below steps to edit the registry:
The .reg files below will add and modify the DWORD values in the registry keys below.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
DisableNotificationCenter DWORD
0 or delete = Enable
1 = Disable
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
