Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello friends, I am facing some issues and i hope you people could help me in resolving them. I have installed a new ssd drive and installed a fresh windows on  it while my hdd was not connected. Os had successfully installed  and device was booting as expected. But after connecting my old hdd using caddy the system started booting from my old hdd. I had tried to select the  sdd as a first priority from os boot manager but sdd was not in the option , only hdd was there. But after pressing f9 , the sdd was clearly in the options and i was able to boot from sdd manually. I , then formatted my old hdd and tried to boot again but again the notebook was booting from the hdd. I have disabled secure boot and enabled legacy support but still sdd is not in the os boot manager. But in legacy bar , it is there in the option. Now, every time i have to boot manually from sdd by pressing f9. Please guide me in finding ssd option in os boot manager.

Some laptops will automatically try to boot from EVERY drive that is connected during startup.

I've run into this myself and there is no BIOS or UEFI solution -- so you need to have the drive disconnected during boot and connect it after booting into the Windows desktop.

Thanks buddy. But i am surprised that big tech giants like HP is not allowing us to upgrade our system. They should atleast update their bios time to time  as per the needs and demands of the users.

Yeah -- I hear what you're saying -- but the HP laptop that gives me these troubles is 10 years old -- and the last BIOS update was 8 years ago.  So, I don 't hold out much hope for HP producing newer BIOS versions.
