Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have acquired a HP 15DB0598SA and it is running on windows 10. Well I like playing quite a few old games that mainly only run on 8.1 " I have tried windows 10 a few times but they won't run, even with a DOS box" does anyone know if the 15-db5098sa would run on windows 8.1, I have noticed that HP do not list drivers for it under 8.1

Hi:

I know there is no W8.1 graphics driver for the APU your notebook has.

Maybe the W7 driver would work...It would be a complete gamble on your part to install W8.1.

AMD only developed W7 and W10 drivers for the  A6-9225 APU.

Hi paul, Well i have installed the 8.1 ans so far everything seems ok 🤞. but it is early days yet because i have still got to install lots of drivers and loads of updates "as per usual" mind you i have done so many complete installs in the past so its second nature! I was just a little concerned being as the 15-DB0598SA was only showing up as win 10 64bit.

I am also be putting another 4gb of ddr4. then hopefully i will be able to play a decent game of minecraft on full cpu performance without any crashes due to the " i7 840 g2 overheating. but yeah i did everything i could for it; a good clean out, new thermal paste, new fan. but no luck But on the power saver mode it was perfect. 🙄

Anyway Paul thanks for your golden words of advice. Paul UK
