Hi @itachi3 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your new HP laptop is experiencing overheating issues within the first month of use, it's important to address the problem promptly. Overheating can lead to performance issues and potential damage to the laptop components. Here are Troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check for Dust: Make sure that the laptop's vents and fans are not clogged with dust or debris. Over time, dust can accumulate and restrict airflow, leading to overheating. Use a can of compressed air to clean out the vents.

Update Drivers and Firmware: Ensure that all drivers and firmware for your laptop are up to date. This includes graphics drivers, BIOS, and any other relevant software updates. Check the HP support website for the latest updates.

Adjust Power Settings: Check your laptop's power settings to ensure that it is not set to a high-performance mode constantly. You can adjust the power plan settings to balance performance and power consumption.

Use a Cooling Pad: Consider using a cooling pad underneath your laptop to help dissipate heat. Cooling pads have built-in fans that can assist in keeping the laptop temperature down.

Monitor Task Manager: Check the Task Manager to see if any specific applications or processes are using a significant amount of CPU resources. This can help identify if there are any software issues causing the overheating.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your reply.

As you have mentioned my  PC hp 14s is upto date and there are no pending updates as I checked in hp support and there is no dust since I have bought the laptop I have just used it 4 to 5 times only for updating so it is just brand new.

When I switch on the laptop withing 10mins it becomes warm when I touch the speaker I could feel the warmness temp is 49C, when I use YouTube it is more warmer temp is like 53C and also I checked the task manager no apps are opened only background apps like amd are running. my brother has bought hp 15s a year back he uses for 4 to 5 hrs continuously but there is no warmness. I still can't understand how a brand new laptop heats this much. I have bought the laptop from croma store. In November 12th 2023. Please guide me
