Thanks for the post and Welcome to HP Forums

I understand that your Photo DVD is having issues in opening files

Suggested solution in this case is :

Copy the contents of the DVD into your PC and try to Open the Photos - if it is smoothly functioning problem is with the DVD

Hope this helped.

I tried     to   copy  the   contents of the dvd   to my PC    but  only  2 images     copied successfully    before   documents  &  dvd   froze  up   after several  attempts   I decided to   reinstall windows 7  from   the dvd  I allready had,   but I have  run into massive problems,    I had the option of doing   an upgrade or a full   reinstall  which I opted for,  the setup   went right through   the install,  but then   on completion     because i had nooption to remove the  install disc  it   started to   reinstall  all over again    but then  everything stopped  and froze, I waited    for ages,  any idea's   what to do  now

update   it  seems to have  reinstalled   sucessfully at the third attempt,      am just   putting the second disc  in now  for the drivers,   I will report back  tomorrow   to  let you know the outcome

It  would appear   you were correct re:    DVD    after     loading all the drivers   I again  tried  the DVD  and the same  thing happened ,    I  eventually   found  thru trial and error   that one of the pics    was causing   the problem,  and it wouldnt allow me to delete it,  so  I   saved  the ones  I wanted  to keep and   deleted  and re formated the whole disc   and succsessfully   copied the pics back on ,    cheers
