Hi @Muhammadadeel62,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Have you made any changes to PC software (OS) or hardware?
The issue you're experiencing with your HP Laptop - 15-Dw2085ne hanging when you plug in the charging cable could be due to several factors, including hardware conflicts, driver issues, or power settings. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this problem:
1. Update Drivers
Ensure all your drivers, especially the power management and chipset drivers, are up to date.
Update via Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start menu and select "Device Manager."
- Expand the categories for "Batteries" and "System devices."
- Right-click on the relevant drivers (e.g., "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" under Batteries and chipset drivers under System devices) and select "Update driver."
Update via HP Support:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop model (HP Laptop - 15-Dw2085ne) and download the latest drivers for your system.
2. Check Power Settings
Incorrect power settings can cause issues when the laptop switches between battery and AC power.
- Adjust Power Plan Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings.
- Click on "Change plan settings" next to your selected power plan.
- Click on "Change advanced power settings."
- Expand "Processor power management" and make sure the settings are appropriate (e.g., set "Minimum processor state" and "Maximum processor state" to 100% for both "On battery" and "Plugged in" if they are not already).
3. BIOS Update
Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve hardware compatibility issues.
- Check for BIOS Updates:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop model (HP Laptop - 15-Dw2085ne) and check if there is a BIOS update available.
- Follow the instructions to download and install the BIOS update.
4. Perform a Battery Test
Using HP's built-in diagnostic tools can help identify if there's a hardware issue.
- HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately press the "Esc" key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press "F2" to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run the battery test and follow any recommendations.
Please find the rest of the steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @Muhammadadeel62 ,
Check below for the remaining steps.
5. Disable Fast Startup
Fast startup can sometimes cause issues with power transitions.
- Disable Fast Startup:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable."
- Scroll down and uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)."
- Click "Save changes" and restart your laptop.
6. Check for Windows Updates
Ensure that your Windows 11 is up to date, as updates often include fixes for hardware compatibility issues.
- Check for Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click on "Check for updates" and install any available updates.
7. Hardware Check
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be a hardware problem. You might need to contact HP support for further assistance or have your laptop inspected by a service technician from the service center.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
