hi. so i was using my laptop as usual last night and shut the screen without powering off  during the night its ran out of power which is fine but i went to turn it on and its flashing the powerbutton then the screen for 0.5 seconds flashes from dark black to lit black then turns off for 2 seconds then does it over and over. i have power from the charger and its a steady amber light on the charger. so im confused. any help welcome thanks.

I understand that the power button blinking 

 

Please perform the below steps and check.

 

Hard Reset:

1) Shutdown the computer.  

2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.  

3) Remove the Battery. ( not for Built-in Battery computer ) 

4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.  

5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)

6) Try to turn on the computer and check, If the issue persists continue next step

 

Set BIOS default and restart:

  1. Restart your notebook.
  2. During startup, press F10 repeatedly until the BIOS menu is displayed.
  3. Once the BIOS menu is displayed, press F9 to restore factory defaults.
  4. Select Yes to confirm.
  5. Press F10 to save changes and exit.
  6. Select Yes to confirm.
  7. The computer restarts using the default settings.

i have solved the issue, i had to remove the inbuilt battery and reinstall then all was ok

When you say inbuilt battery you mean the rechargeable big battery or the little motherboard cmos battery shaped like a coin?

the rechargeable big battery. just unscrewed it and left it out for a second then put it back in

Hey bud To be safe put your laptop in sleep mode it does not harm the laptop and it will lessen the likelyhood of corrupting any drivers or bios. Cheers.
