Hi @crombook1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To use your HP Ink Tank 115 printer with your Chromebook, you typically don't need to download PPD (PostScript Printer Description) files. Chromebooks use Google Cloud Print or native printing capabilities to connect to printers.
Here's how you can set up your printer with your Chromebook.
Connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook.
Enable Google Cloud Print on your printer (if it's not already enabled):
- Press the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously until the Power button blinks.
- Within two minutes, press the Color Copy button.
Set up the printer on your Chromebook:
- Open the Chrome browser on your Chromebook.
- In the top right, click on the three-dot menu, then select "Settings."
- Scroll down and click "Advanced" at the bottom.
- Under "Printing," click "Printers."
- Click "Add Printer."
- Your HP Ink Tank 115 printer should appear in the list of available printers if it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Select it.
Print a test page:
- After adding the printer, you may be prompted to print a test page. Follow the instructions to do so.
Start printing:
- Once your printer is set up, you can start printing from your Chromebook. When you go to print something, your HP Ink Tank 115 printer should be listed as an available option.
If for some reason your printer doesn't appear in the list or if you encounter any issues, you might need to consult the printer's manual or visit HP's support website for troubleshooting steps specific to your model.
If you still wish to obtain the PPD file, you can usually find it on the HP website. However, as mentioned, it's typically not needed for Chromebook printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
