@annie1222Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer disorder!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems like your HP ENVY 6452e All-in-One printer might be having an issue with automatic printing or could be stuck in a printing loop. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and stop the continuous printing:

  1. Cancel All Print Jobs:

    • On your computer, go to the Control Panel or Printers & Scanners settings, find your HP ENVY 6452e printer, and open the print queue.
    • Cancel any active or pending print jobs.
  2. Check Printer Settings:

    • Ensure that your printer is not set to automatically print certain documents. Double-check any print job settings or software that may have initiated a print job (e.g., from cloud printing services).
  3. Restart Printer and Computer:

    • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a minute. Plug it back in and power it on.
    • Restart your computer to make sure no background processes are still sending print commands.
  4. Check for Stuck Print Jobs:

    • Open the Print Queue on your computer. If any jobs are stuck, cancel them, as they could be causing the printer to keep printing.
  5. Check for Printer Firmware/Driver Issues:

    • Sometimes, outdated drivers or firmware can cause issues. Go to the HP website and make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware for your printer model.
  6. Reset the Printer:

    • You can reset your printer to its factory settings to stop any odd behavior. Check the printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
  7. Check for Malware or Print Spooler Issues:

    • In rare cases, malware or print spooler issues on the computer can cause continuous printing. Run an antivirus scan and check the Print Spooler service on your computer (go to Services.msc > Print Spooler and restart it).

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi @annie1222,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

It seems like your HP ENVY 6452e is on a printing spree, working overtime without even asking for permission! Let’s catch it before it turns into a paper tornado. 😅

It might be due to several possible reasons like a print job stuck in the queue, a software glitch, or issues with the printer settings. Here are step-by-step troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:

Cancel Any Stuck Print Jobs

  1. Open the printer queue on your PC:
    • Windows: Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter to open the "Devices and Printers" window.
    • Mac: Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and select your printer.
  2. In the printer queue, check if there are any stuck print jobs. If you see any, cancel them by right-clicking and selecting Cancel or Delete.
  3. Restart the printer after clearing the queue by turning it off, waiting a few seconds, and turning it back on.

Check for Paper Feed Issues

  1. Check the paper tray to make sure there is no extra or jammed paper that could cause confusion with printing.
  2. Ensure that the paper is loaded properly, aligned, and not overloaded in the tray.

Reboot Your Printer and Computer

  1. Turn off the printer completely and unplug it from the power source for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Restart your computer to clear any lingering print jobs or conflicts.

Check for Automatic Printing Settings

  1. Disable Automatic Printing:
    • Open the printer settings on your computer and look for any setting that may be enabling automatic printing (e.g., print from web apps, cloud print).
    • Disable or check if the "Auto-print" feature is turned on and adjust it if needed.
  2. Check for Printing from Email or Cloud: If you are using cloud services like HP Smart App or HP Instant Ink, ensure that no remote print jobs are being automatically sent to the printer.

Update Printer Drivers

  1. Update Printer Drivers to ensure they are up to date:
    • Visit the HP Support website and search for the HP ENVY 6452e printer drivers.
    • Download and install the latest drivers for your system (Windows or Mac).
    • Restart your computer after updating the drivers.

Reset Printer to Factory Defaults

If the issue persists, you may want to perform a factory reset on the printer. This will clear all settings and restore it to its default configuration.

  1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the printer.

Check for Wireless or App Settings

  • If you are printing through the HP Smart App or wireless network, ensure that no misconfigured settings or automatic tasks are causing the printer to print.
  • Check that your device is not accidentally sending print commands to the printer.

Test with a Different Device

Try printing from a different device (like another computer or smartphone) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the printer or the original device.

We’ll get everything back to normal, so you can enjoy smooth printing with no surprise sheets flying out. If you need anything else, I’m here to help!

Hope I was able to make things easier for you! 😊

If this solved your issue, go ahead and mark it as "Accepted Solution" and hit "Yes"—your feedback keeps us going and helps others too! 👍

Take care and have an amazing day! 🚀
