Microsoft Windows 11

Good morning,

I have problems updating the BIOS of several EliteBook 650 G10s: I start from version 01.02.03 and I update from the Bios Setup via Ethernet and it offers me 01.07.01. it does the download, it actually does some updates but when it restarts and I go to check the version again it always gives me 01.02.03.

Have you also encountered this problem? is there any way to solve it?

Look in the event viewer for an error message such as expired or missing certificate.

I've had this same issue recently too? Go into the BIOS using Escape key on bootup, BIOS now says its at version 1.05

recommends 1.08 so i choose to update BIOS, laptop reboots, appears to download the new BIOS update, reboots again, only to say its updating Thunderbolt and then camera firmware, never touches the BIOS. Reboot, go back into BIOS and still on the old version 1.05. I can go through the whole process again but still get left with the same version.?

The strange thing is, i can go into Windows update once the laptop has a build on it and it will pick up BIOS version 1.06 and actually update to that successfully on reboot? Still can't get to the version 1.08 though?

If you're going straight into the BIOS and choosing to update from HP how would a certificate come into the equation? You're not even in Windows at this point or might not even have an OS on the machine?
