Hi @ntabo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern about how it can feel  to see a notification about the HP Endpoint Security Controller on your laptop, Dont worry let me help you with this.

Could you please share your HP laptop model number

Here are some steps  you can try:

01.Update HP Client Security

Outdated security software can trigger controller errors.

Open  HP Support Assistant → Updates- Check for updates to HP Client Security Manager

Install any pending updates

Restart your laptop after installation

02.Check BIOS Settings

Endpoint Security Controller relies on BIOS configuration.

Restart → Press Esc/F10 to enter BIOS- Ensure Embedded Security Device is enabled

Save changes and exit BIOS

Reboot to see if the error clears

03.Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Diagnostics can detect hardware issues with the controller.

Press  Esc → F2 during startup- Select Component Tests → Security Controller

Run the test and note any error codes

If errors appear, share them with HP Support

04.Reinstall Security Drivers

Corrupted drivers may cause the notification.

Open  Device Manager → Security Devices- Right-click Trusted Platform Module/Endpoint Security Controller

Choose Uninstall device

Restart laptop to auto-reinstall drivers

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
