Hi @Dipam_Ghosh,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop displays an "Invalid Checksum" message after starting up, it indicates that there is a problem with the integrity of the system's BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) or CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) settings.
The checksum is a value calculated to verify the correctness of data stored in the BIOS or CMOS. If the checksum doesn't match the expected value, it means that the data has been altered or corrupted. This can happen due to various reasons such as a hardware malfunction, power surge, or incorrect BIOS settings.
To resolve the "Invalid Checksum" error, you can try the following steps.
- Power off your laptop completely.
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible).
- Wait for a few minutes to discharge any residual power.
- Reinsert the battery (if removed) and connect the power adapter.
- Power on the laptop and immediately start pressing the appropriate key to access the BIOS settings. This key is usually displayed on the boot screen and can vary depending on the laptop model (e.g., F1, F2, Del, Esc).
- Once in the BIOS settings, look for an option to reset to default settings or load optimized defaults. This option might be located in different sections of the BIOS menu, such as "Exit," "Advanced," or "Setup."
- Select the option to reset the BIOS settings and confirm the changes. Save the settings and exit the BIOS.
- Allow the laptop to restart and check if the "Invalid Checksum" error still persists.
If the issue persists after resetting the BIOS settings, there might be a deeper problem with the hardware or the BIOS itself. In such cases,
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
