HP laptop 15-ay173dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've replaced a hard drive in my laptop 15-ay173dx. Run a short hard drive test - ok. Trying to install MS OS 10 from a CD which came with the laptop:

"Press any key to boot from CD..." Next message: "The selected boot device failed. Press <Enter> to Continue."

After <Enter> laptop is turning of.

Could it be not a properly connected CD drive? Doesn't seem that anything could be missed there...

What shall I do?

@AleksSW Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to install the operating system using the recovery disk.

In that case, you will have to order a recovery media: Click here for steps.

Or you may also attempt to download the same using the steps on this link: click here
