Try to press z if you have a german keyboard.

Then you can set up your pin again with your password for Microsoft.

How did you reset the PIN?

HP Recommended

Normally, resetting the PIN works via the “Forgotten PIN” function.

I was asked to reset my PIN when I booted to Windows login screen, if you haven't noticed in my original post. It said the following:

"Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again". Below that, I had 2 options:

-Set up my PIN,

-Sign in options.

I simply clicked the first option, to set up my PIN again.

Oldie1950, I am not certain what you mean exactly by "TPM login options". I was talking about logging in Windows.

I only got the message about the issue with TPM data, like I and a lot of other people said. TPM is clearly used to store PIN, as I understand at least. When I checked settings, TPM was "available" and its status was "ready", so I had no problems with that after I cleared the TPM. The faulty BIOS update caused the whole problem from the beginning.

What I don't know is how my laptop installed the update without my prior knowledge, that's what I am talking about. I am supposed to get a notification.

By "TPM login options" I meant the window that appeared immediately after switching on the laptop and offered the options to reset the TPM or start it with current data. On German keyboards, the letters Y and Z are swapped. So if you clicked the letter Y on a German keyboard, absolutely nothing happened. HP's telephone support pointed this problem out to me, thereby solving my problem and apparently also the problem of other users with German keyboards.
I can confirm that I was also not asked whether I wanted to install the BIOS update. I called up the Windows update page in the "Einstellungen" (that's the German name) and the BIOS update started automatically.

All right, thank you. Now I understand. I also use the QWERTZ keyboard - I believe that German keyboards have QWERTZ layout, no? I am from Serbia and most central European countries have that keyboard I think.

I can also confirm that nothing happened when I pressed the letter Y.

HP Recommended

Yes, the German keyboard has the QWERTZ layout.

How to solve this problem  and suppose  if I press Y than data will be delete from the system or not .
