By "TPM login options" I meant the window that appeared immediately after switching on the laptop and offered the options to reset the TPM or start it with current data. On German keyboards, the letters Y and Z are swapped. So if you clicked the letter Y on a German keyboard, absolutely nothing happened. HP's telephone support pointed this problem out to me, thereby solving my problem and apparently also the problem of other users with German keyboards.
I can confirm that I was also not asked whether I wanted to install the BIOS update. I called up the Windows update page in the "Einstellungen" (that's the German name) and the BIOS update started automatically.

All right, thank you. Now I understand. I also use the QWERTZ keyboard - I believe that German keyboards have QWERTZ layout, no? I am from Serbia and most central European countries have that keyboard I think.

I can also confirm that nothing happened when I pressed the letter Y.

Yes, the German keyboard has the QWERTZ layout.

the same issue of tpm showed in my laptop and after pressing N my laptop is not turning on while i press the power button? what is the problem and how can i resolve this?

HP Recommended

I don't really understand the problem. When you press the laptop's power button, does the window no longer appear with the options to press N or Y?

HP Recommended

the problem is that after i selected N after that the laptop is turned off and now its not turning on with the power button

I'm sorry, but I don't have a solution to the problem.

Screenshot (9).pngThis is my limited understanding of the problem from what I see on my laptop.

First, if you press any option (either Y or N) in the BIOS when you get the message about the TPM issue, the computer should reboot and if there is no problem with the system or the PIN, you should see the normal Windows login screen and be able to start Windows. If there is any problem with the latter, you will see the error (which I did see from the start). While I was able to reboot my laptop, the TPM and PIN stopped working due to the faulty BIOS update, as others have already described.

That is why I got "your PIN is not available" message, because the TPM stores the PIN data. In the end, I simply cleared my TPM in the BIOS and then I set up my PIN again in Windows as I described earlier. I can also confirm that TPM status was available. After that the error message disappeared, fortunately. But that wasn't the whole story.

I can't explain how I didn't get the notification on my laptop that a new BIOS update will be installed. However, based on my laptop settings in the HP support assistant, under automatic software update, it seems that "BIOS" option was checked. So I unchecked that option.

I sent the screenshot (it is in Serbian but I hope you can see where the settings are). I hope you can understand.  Thank you for reading.

So after pushing N and getting the same error and always pushing N, I tried Y.  That seemed to work.  However:

1) Next day, Hardware security is GONE from Device security and it says I don't have TPM (Yesterday I did... and TPM is ON in BIOS)

2) Worse: WINDOWS 11 IS NO LONGER ACTIVATED.  HP's BIOS UPDATE IS SO BAD, it DEACTIVATED WINDOWS 11.

How is this HORRIBLE level of updating and support possible???
