Understand that S Mode won't let you install any apps other than from the Microsoft Store. So if you are downloading other apps, that will not work.
Also, only the Microsoft Store has the means for you the exit S Mode. So if that is not working, you are stuck.
You are probably using the new Edge browser -- which restricts what you can download. You should switch over to a different Browser like FireFox.
These laptops are cheaper because of these restrictions. IF you are not happy with these, you should see if you can return it for a refund and buy one that is not restricted like this.
