HP Stream - 14-ax030wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

After 35 minutes with standard tech support, AND ADVANCED TECH SUPPORT, who gave me this address, PLEASE HELP.

I received new modem/router from spectrum.. ALL FINE ON TWO DIFFERENT COMPUTERS (two-year-old HP and 10-year-old Acer) AND ROKU TV UNIT. My HP Stream, 2017, Windows 10 WON'T recognize new devices, BUT HAS ALWAYS WORKED WITH OLD SPECTRUM unit perfectly.

YOUR Stream WON'T even allow me to reboot to factory condition (As I and others have tried numerous times) it says not enough room, AND I'VE TRIED TO ERASE THINGS to return to Factory Settings,BUT IT WON'T EVEN LET ME do that. I would like to be able to redo the entire unit back to factory condition, at the least. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOOOOO FILES I NEED TO KEEP ON THIS STREAM. ATTACHED is a pic of computer basics. I am n disbelief something would be sold without the ability to COMPLETELY REDO back to Factory Settings as I would've tried if it'd let me.

Please help me. Again, NO PROBLEMS WITH OTHER THINGS... EVEN COMPUTER FROM 2009 /windows 7.. recognizes and accepts new router WITH NO PROBLEM. Please forward me complete instructions on how to recognize new router and/OR HOW TO DOWNLOAD COMPLETE STREAM SYSTEM TO ANOTHER COMPUTER FOR ME TO SAVE ON THUMB DRIVE, INPUT INTO STREAM SO IT'LL AUTOMATICALLY ERASE, FORMAT AND PREPARE STREAM FOR PROPER USE. I CAN EASILY USE REMOVABLE DRIVES WITH 64 GIG ADDITIONAL DRIVE for use, per YOUR INSTRUCTIONS.

THANK YOU. Scott Vasek ---- [Personal Information Removed]

Hi@ScottV01,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Stream Laptop and looking to reset to factory settings.

I have a few recommendations

  1. Start your computer and press the F11 key repeatedly.
  2. On the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot.
  3. Click Reset your PC.
  4. On the Reset your PC screen, click Next.
  5. Read and respond to any screens that open.
  6. Wait while Windows resets your computer.
