Hello again,
full of hope, today I started with my cloud recovery tool prepared USB-Key.
I changed the Boot sequence und the HPSteam booted from USB-Key.
I took a while, but the a Window appeared, the this device not supports recovering from such media.
Error codes: 0100-82BD-8423 and 0122-0-1 (Whatever that means)
There is only an Info link, which tells me the Serial and die Product ID and Version 7.1920.1.0 of the Recovery Manager
and an [OK]-Button, which switches off the device.
So im a little bit confused, because the USB-Key was built exactly for this Product ID.
Doesnt HP test theyr Software with the Hardware its made for?
What a mess...

Hi
You mention Pro, the spec says Home.
HP Stream - 14-ax002ng Product Specifications
There is a known issue when trying to install W10 PRO where W10 Home should be.
Am I completely missing the point??
Because I would just make the Microsoft USB installer and add in the HP_Drvrs as needed.

I never sayed, that I tried ti install W10Pro.
The CloudRecoveryTool sayed, there is "Microsoft Windows 10S 64bit Compact" on this ProdID, and I think it of course created a USBKey which installs exact this version of Win10.
I think the Stick fits to the device. I also once more compared the ProdId, its ok.
Maybe I should now download a Microsoft Windows 10S 64bit Compact ISO with the MS Mediacreation Tool and give this a try...
I think Win10Pro ist too heavy for this light weight hardware and the licence registration will not fit at activation server, when I try to active Windows again on this device.

Sorry the Cloud Recovery tool didn't work.
I wouldn't be able to help you with getting it to work.
I think at this point you have no other option but to use the Microsoft media creation tool to reinstall W10.

This is exactly, what I did the last hour.
First I created a boting USBKey from Win10.iso with WinSetupFromUSB-1-9 (FreewarTool), but it booted only in Legacy mode, und then the Win10-installer sayed, that the desired partion ist not in GPT-Mode. (I was wondering, that the GPT froamtted HDD is correct detected but not able to install on it).
Next try was to create the USBKey with MS-Mediacreation tool. then the Key booted with Legacymode off. And finally Win10 installed without problems.
Now I was interested, if the recovery-system would work, so I tried to reset the Laptop from recovery and also this works (its on 63% at the moment).
A problem still is, that the 30GByteHDD has only 9GByte left, so a fresh Win10 (without any update, because here is no WLan) takes 20 GByte of the rare Diskspace. Thats a shame.
Maybe, I should switch to Linux...

No I didn't delete the whole drive, I only formatted partition 3. So I did a clean install to this partition, which has a size of 28GByte. After this installation, there have been 9Gbyte of free space left. So Windows takes nearly 20GByte.
The first partition is recovery(cant see it in Windows), the second, a small one, is EFI System else and the fourth is for WindowsRETools
Left these thee untouched (because I originally hoped to recover from there). They are less then 2GByte together.
So maybe I replace the SSD or i install a less hungry OS.
So the extract is: Cloud recovery doesn't work with this device, But install from standard Win10 Medium does in UEFI Mode
