i have a friends hp 15 f033wm that  the hdd went bad. i tried putting in a different hdd but when booting up it's looking for a product number i guess which was on the original hdd. i dont have the number. if i bought a used hp hdd that says it's for a hp 15 f033wm and has a celeron processor will it boot up not looking for that number? if not, is there any way to have it fixed to be usale again? he doesn't want it and i thought if i could get it fixed for less than buying a new one i would get it fixed. thanks ahead of time.

Any HP hard drive is licensed to run on the original machine and will ask for key. If you want to use it order Recovery Media from the Support page, boot from it and install on any hard drive (as long as it is as large a capacity as original)
