Microsoft Windows 11

I just bought a HP 14 Laptop and want to reset the entire computer, deleting all files and restarting it. Every time I try to reset it, I get an error saying it couldn't reset. I've tried several different steps from Google searches and nothing works. How can I reset it? This is annoying.

Hi @CMnewuser,

Thank you for the response

Try these steps:

Prepare for Reset

  1. Back up important files: Ensure you have backed up any critical data to an external storage device or cloud service. This process will delete all files and settings.

Open Windows Recovery Environment

Restart your computer: Immediately press the F11 key repeatedly. This will open the recovery environment.

HP Sure Recover Screen: If prompted, select Restore from local drive to access recovery options.

Perform Reset

  1. Choose an option: On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot.

Selecting Troubleshoot in the Windows Recovery Environment

  1. Reset this PC: On the Troubleshoot screen, select Reset this PC.

Selecting Reset this PC to start the reset process

Remove Everything: Select Remove Everything. This will delete all personal files, apps, and settings.

Local Reinstall: Choose Local Reinstall.

Provisioning Packages: Decide whether to save any Windows provisioning packages.

Just Remove Files: Select Just Remove Files. Do not choose Fully Clean Drive as this wipes the entire operating system.

Reset Confirmation: On the Reset screen, select Reset to confirm the process. Your computer will restart automatically when the reset is complete.

I hope this helps.
