I had a quick question - I currently have a 5 year old dv6 - 1370ev with Windows 8.1 on it. When I bought it, it had Windows 7 on it. I do not have the CD or the product key for Windows 8 anymore. I was wondering if I used your method or the "Remove everything and reinstall windows" would it still ask me for the product key?

I am trying to remove everything from my laptop.

Do let me know. Thank you.
