@GouravKhatri, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 15-d5000 laptop is stuck at 100% during the “Cloud download” reset process, even after using sfc /scannow and other troubleshooting steps, here’s how you can fix it:
Recommended Fixes (No Bootable Drive Required)
Option 1: Use Local Reinstall Instead of Cloud Download
Since cloud download often fails due to server or integrity issues:
- Go to Settings > System > Recovery.
- Click Reset this PC → Remove everything.
- Choose Local reinstall instead of Cloud download.
- Local reinstall uses the files already on your device.
- It's faster and more reliable on a troubled system.
Option 2: Use Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
- Force shutdown the laptop (hold power for ~10 sec).
- Turn it on and immediately press F11 repeatedly to enter Recovery Environment (WinRE).
- Go to:
Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Remove everything > Local reinstall.
Option 3: Create a Bootable USB on Another PC
If you have access to any other Windows PC, you can create a bootable USB for a clean install:
- Go to Microsoft's official site.
- Download the Media Creation Tool.
- Plug in a 16GB USB drive.
- Use the tool to create installation media.
- Plug it into your HP laptop and boot from USB (press F9 on startup).
During install, choose “Custom” > delete all partitions > install to unallocated space.
>HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support
Additional Notes
sfc /scannow only checks for protected system files, not all corruption.
For deeper fixes, you can also try:
- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
