Hi everyone, I am looking for some answer, I'd appreciate any bits of information.
I found my wife old laptop and hoping to restore it and make use of it. Especially with the recent work from home situation.
When I first turn it on, it was on Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything seems to be working decent. I was very hasty and did a clean install of windows 10 on it hoping it will be better than "decent", stupid me. Little did I know that this older laptop no longer supported by windows 10, and I am having a hard time to restore it to "decent".
After a day of searching, i was able to find windows 7 x64 ISO image. I was able to did some windows updates on it. BUT it is still not as "decent" compare to before. Next I am thinking to install the Win7 Home x86 because of laptops 1GB ram. Right now in Device Mgr there are 3 drivers can not be update, following are the hardware IDs
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_30BB103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_30BB103C&REV_0A
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1870&REV_0100
Which OS at what bit to perform the best and what are the drivers I need for my HP Pavilion dv6000.
Product: HP Pavilion dv6000
s/n: C NF6480MVS
p/n: EZ829AV
BIOS version: Hewlett-Packard F.08, 11/6/2006
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5200 @1.60GHz
RAM: 1GB

Hi:
If the notebook only has 1 GB of memory, you want to use a 32 bit operating system.
You need these drivers for the PCI\VEN_1180 devices.
This package contains the Ricoh Media Card Reader Driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems. The Ricoh Media Card Reader driver provides support for the following media: Memory Stick, xD-Picture Card, MMC, SD, and SmartCard.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45112.exe
You need this driver for the webcam:
There is only an XP driver for the webcam.
You can see if it works on W7...
This package contains the HP Webcam 1000 driver for the listed operating systems.

thank you for the quick reply.
I am installing Win7 Home x32 as I type right now, hopefully this will improve the laptop performance.
I will try out both drivers you have provided.
Question
1-would you recommend a specific OS x32 bit for my laptop?
2-Would you suggest to update the BIOS?

You're very welcome.
The notebook should run fine on Vista or W7, with the possibly the exception of the webcam on W7.
The webcam may not work even with the driver installed.
This was the last BIOS update released for your notebook.
I would recommend you update the BIOS if you are going to run W7, or if you want to install 2 x 2 GB of memory in your notebook.
The BIOS update is supposed to fix this issue...
- Fixes an issue where notebooks that are running a Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System may display an incorrect message about replacing the battery during startup, even though the battery capacity is not less than the critical battery level. This issue occurs because the BIOS inadvertently reports incorrect battery information to the Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System. |

thank you again PT
man, everything seems to be working fine except for the webcam. The webcam light lid blue but screen shows black during zoom calls. is there any other ways to fix this? I am currently on Windows 7 Home x 32 bit.
If Win XP is the only way to fix it. Is there anyways you can provide me with the XP ISO image? At this moment, I can only get my hands on Win 7, 8.1, 10

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to help you with obtaining a copy of XP.
XP only came in CD form.
I know that those PC's in order to have the camera to work on Vista, there was some kind of driver and firmware update you had to do to the camera.
I don't know if you already had done that, or if it would work on W7 as well.

After you have done that, see if installing the Cyberlink YouCam software helps any,
