@Rizwan99, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing where one window dims during split-screen mode on your HP laptop running Windows 11 is likely caused by a feature called "Focus Mode" or adaptive display settings enabled by HP software or Windows power settings.

Here's how to fix it:

Disable Focus Mode in HP Command Center

HP laptops often come with the HP Command Center or HP Support Assistant, which may include a feature that dims inactive windows to help you focus.

  • Open HP Command Center or HP Support Assistant.
  • Look for a setting called Focus Mode or Adaptive Battery Optimizer.
  • Disable this feature.

Check Windows Power Settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & battery > Power mode.
  • Set it to Best performance.
  • Then go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
  • Under Display, check for any adaptive brightness or dimming settings and turn them off.

Update Graphics Drivers

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters.
  • Right-click your graphics card and choose Update driver.
  • Or use HP Support Assistant to update all drivers and BIOS.

Disable Adaptive Brightness

  • Go to Settings > System > Display > Brightness.
  • Uncheck "Change brightness automatically when lighting changes" if available.
