To provide you with an accurate solution, I'd like to know the following-

  • May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
  • What is the exact error message?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

The smart hard disk check has detected an imminent failure to ensure no data loss, please backup the content immediately and run the hard disk test in system diagnostics hard disk 1 (301)

If you continue to get an error message and you try all the system diagnostics but it continues to take you back to www.hp.com\go\techcenter\startup is there anything that can be done?

I just purchased this laptop, it has 3x the memory of my other hp (had it for 5 years now, running great), but a bit slower than this one. I was running your HP optimize tools. The next thing I know it sys "LOCKing...". It then shuts completely down. No other info provided.

I start it back up it says

* System Temp 90D

Then in reading the above heading it says it shut down to protect the system and did a Thermal Shutdown.

Right now I am pissed as hell, this system is sitting atop a gamer cooling pad, there is NO **bleep** WAY it should be getting hot at all.

I am really disappointed in this purchase.

I look forward to your response to this POS as I want it resolved or replaced
