Hi @omaralsuib,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand how unsettling it can feel when your screen suddenly shows a message like www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup, especially if you were in the middle of something important. Let’s work through this together step by step so you can get your PC back up and running smoothly.

What does this message mean?

This usually appears when your system encounters a startup or boot issue, often related to BIOS, hardware, or system configuration. Don’t worry, HP provides clear guidance to resolve this.

Steps to Fix the Issue:

  1. Perform a Hard Reset
    • Power off your computer completely.
    • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
    • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
    • Reconnect the battery and adapter, then power on.

  2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)
    • Turn on your PC and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open HP Diagnostics.
    • Run System Tests (Quick Test first, then Extensive if needed).
    • If any component fails, note the error code.

  3. Update or Reset BIOS
    • If diagnostics pass, update BIOS to the latest version:
    • If the issue persists, perform a BIOS reset from the BIOS menu.

  4. Check Boot Device Settings
    • Restart and press Esc → F10 for BIOS Setup.
    • Ensure your primary storage drive is detected and set as the first boot device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
