Hi @phelen222,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Do you see the HP logo or any lights on the keyboard/power button when you turn it on?
  • Does the fan start spinning, or is the laptop completely silent?
  • Have you tried connecting the laptop to an external monitor to check if the display works there?

 Troubleshooting Steps You Can Try

  • Hard Reset: Disconnect the charger, then hold the power button for 15–20 seconds. Reconnect power and try turning it on again.
  • Check Display Brightness/Function Keys: Sometimes the screen brightness is turned all the way down. Try pressing Fn + F3/F4 (brightness keys) or the display toggle key.
  • External Monitor Test: Connect the laptop to an external monitor or TV via HDMI. If you see output there, the issue may be with the laptop’s display panel.
  • BIOS Reset: Turn off the laptop, then press and hold Windows + B while pressing the power button. This forces a BIOS recovery screen if the firmware is corrupted.
  • HP UEFI Diagnostics: Press Esc repeatedly at startup, then F2 to enter diagnostics. Run the display and hardware tests if the menu appears.

I hope this helps.
