- so i have a pavillion 500-17c that has an issue

So my pavillion 500-17c PC is having problems lately.
*quick hard drive check*
smart check : not installed
short DST : not installed
*extensive hard drive check*
smart check : not installed
short DST : not installed
and also
* ERROR: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed.
can some one help me fix this please. Also when I try to press f9 for boot setup or f10 for computer setup it says it requires a password, and i do not know the password.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
