Summing up my progress with recovery. Purchased the recovery usb from HP. That didn't work, so as recommended I downloaded win10 and would reinstall software from HP. All went well except for one software package. This computer came with Cyberlink , Photo Director ,Media player,Camera and Power Director software. 3 of the four installed perfect. No matter what I try the Cyberlink Power Director will not install. I have tried using the assistant but to no avail. It will go as far as the agreement and where to install it, then just ends with no explanation as to what I may be missing to install. I did enable net 3.5 in windows features but that did not help. What would have been installed with HP win10 that is missing in Microsoft win 10. Looking for a possible work around to install this software. Thanks for any input.

@Paintjar Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that after performing the recovery you did not get the software packages.
Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.
Please refer the below link to HP PCs - Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 10).

If you are still unable to get the software, please download it from the Microsoft stores.
Let me know how that pans out,

Thanks for your help. As a work around the HP recovery USB that I purchased,after many attempts, I did go to MS and got Win10. Installed that with no problem, Then I went to HP and installed all the updates and drivers as well as the software for my PC. There is only one that does not install. After downloading using the assistant it will come up as all the rest and ask me to agree to their terms. Then it asks where to install it. It says installing then nothing. Screen disappears and no installation. I went to the folder used by HP found the file and tried manually to install using run as admin, same result. It may need some kind of key that is in the original software package the came with it. I am working on a work around with the software. After attempting to recover with the usb drive, in the end it says failed. However in my attempt to install Win 10 from MS it asks to backup files. I found all the files software etc from the recovery were installed on the hard drive, but it would not start windows (looking for a memory dump file or no drive found. If your interested I can continue my story.
Thanks for your reply.

Thank you for the update.
Please let us know if the HP recovery partition on your hard drive is available or not.
If the recovery partition is present you could have tried with F11 recovery.
Performing the recovery you will lose the personal data and installed applications.
After installing windows 10 operating system, If you are still unable to find the software. Please download the software from the Microsoft stores.
Have a nice day!!
