son left his stream notbook in the rain for about 1 or 2 hours HELP

almost 3 year old laptop but used almost daily. Was left turned on. Caps lock button flashing, laptop wont turn on. screen flashing different shades of black. Power button not lighting up

Almost certainly, something got shorted out from rain getting into the PC -- but we have no way of determining the damage from here.

If your PC is no longer under warranty, you will have to contact an HP Repair or Service Center to see if they can examine the PC to determine the cause(s) of the problems, if it can be repaired, and an estimate of the repair costs.
