Hi @undertime

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like the Intel driver update has caused performance issues on your HP laptop.

Here are some steps to help resolve this problem:

1. Roll Back the Driver

  • Open Device Manager (press Windows + X and select "Device Manager").
  • Expand Display Adapters or the relevant category for the updated driver.
  • Right-click the Intel driver and select Properties.
  • Go to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver. This will revert to the previous version.

2. Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver

  • In Device Manager, right-click the Intel driver and select Uninstall Device. Check the box for "Delete the driver software for this device" if prompted.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows will attempt to reinstall a compatible driver automatically.
  • Alternatively, download the recommended driver for your laptop model from the HP Support website and install it manually.

3. Perform a System Restore

  • If the issue persists, use System Restore to revert your laptop to a point before the driver update:
    • Press Windows + R, type rstrui, and hit Enter.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to select a restore point.

4. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support website to check for BIOS and chipset driver updates. These updates can improve compatibility and performance.

5. Run HP Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to access the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics menu.
  • Run a system test to check for hardware issues.

6. Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and ensure your system is fully updated. Sometimes, Windows updates can resolve driver conflicts.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
