If you have an error message that tells you your HDD is failing, you already know where your hardware stands.
Even if the automatic repair succeeds, the same thing will happen in the future.
You should have posted this in the laptop section. I will move it.
The original specification shows a legacy SATA HDD.
It should be replaced with a 3D NAND SATA 2.5" (7mm) SSD.
The SSD products are far more reliable than their legacy electromechanical predecessors.
Some replacement SSD products are a direct fit and others require a 9.5mm adaptor.
The 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5" (7mm) SSD products are relatively inexpensive. @50$ USD here in the US.
When you install the replacement SSD you will need to create a USB Cloud recovery flashdrive to install the operating system. An HP tutorial and link to the software are at the hyperlink below this line.

One serious advantage of upgrading to an SSD is that your laptop will boot up to Windows login so fast you will not believe that it is the same laptop.
