I was trying to update my BIOS from F.28 to F.51 which is the latest version that i downloaded from this page (https://support.hp.com/my-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-m6-aq100-x360-convertible-pc/12499188/model...), I clicked on the downloaded file and the installer appeared , I chose to update the BIOS on this pc option and then it prompted me to restart , on the restart i got a screen with the following messege (the system bios update failed unable to open bios image file) ! and the laptop will restart after that with the same old BIOS (F.28), I checked the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI which was updated to the latest available version (6.4.1.0 Rev.A).
N.B. , I tried the update from within Hp support assistant software and I tried it manually where I download the update from the support page and tried to install it, in both cases update failed.
also i tried to off the antivirus (Kaspersky) and any other disk monitoring softwares like (Acronis) but still the update failed.
Kindly, Can you advice me about this problem ?
best

Hi @FalconM6,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues updating the Bios on your HP notebook. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you.
Updating the BIOS, also known as "flashing the BIOS," replaces the BIOS firmware. When completed successfully, a BIOS update can fix or enhance aspects of a computer's performance, or provide support for newly installed hardware. However, if an incorrect update is installed or if the update process is interrupted, the motherboard can be permanently damaged, leaving the computer unable to boot. It is recommended to update your BIOS only if one or more of the following conditions apply:
The update fixes a problem with your computer.
The update enhances your computer's performance in the desired way.
You are planning to change the operating system, processor, or other feature(s), and the current BIOS version will not support the new configuration.
An HP Support Agent, or an HP support document, recommends that you download and install a specific updated BIOS.
