I have an old HP Stream 11 X360 that was still working. I am going to give it to my housekeeper who has no computer at all. I scraped my stuff by doing a clean install with the latest version of Windows 10 (64-bit). I set her up with a Microsoft account and as having the administrator account for the machine.
I was actually surprised that the install process managed to find the latest special drivers from HP. I.e., the Support Assistant confirmed that my drivers were all up to date.
But today I happened to try scrolling the screen by using the touchscreen. It does not work. This is very strange as the touchscreen had always worked well and definitely was working before I did the clean OS install.
So I thought I needed to enable the HID-compliant touchscreen driver. But it's not there! So I used the support site to list all the drivers for the machine. (This was identifying it by serial number.) No HID-compliant touchscreen driver was even listed by the support site.
So what's going on here? How can I obtain and install the HID-compliant touchscreen driver for my machine? The hardware definitely has the feature, and I'm sure that my housekeeper would like to be able to use it.
