Hi @JohnnyLee,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It seems you are encountering a complex issue with your HP 17z-cp laptop involving a continuous loop of errors related to Windows and possible hardware or software conflicts. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Steps to Resolve IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL Error

Hard Reset the Laptop:

  • Turn off the computer completely.
  • Disconnect all external devices (printers, USB drives).
  • Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and AC adapter.
  • Turn on the laptop.

Access Safe Mode:

  • Restart your computer.
  • As it boots up, press the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  • Select "Safe Mode" and press Enter.
  • If "Safe Mode" is not working, try "Safe Mode with Networking" to determine if it’s a network-related issue.

Update or Rollback Drivers:

  • Once in Safe Mode, open Device Manager.
  • Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark, indicating a driver issue.
  • Right-click on the device and choose "Update Driver" or "Rollback Driver". Especially check network adapters and display drivers.

Run System File Checker:

  • In the search box, type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator".
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This command will scan and repair missing or corrupted system files.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.
  • Install any pending updates that might resolve system errors.

Perform System Restore:

  • Type "System Restore" in the search bar and select "Create a restore point".

  • Choose "System Restore" from the System Properties window.

  • Follow the prompts to restore your computer to a previous state before the issue occurred.

Reinstall Windows using a USB Bootable Drive:

  • If network installation is not possible due to key entry issues, consider creating a bootable USB with Windows 11.

  • Use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create this bootable drive.

  • Restart your laptop and boot it from the USB drive to reinstall Windows.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
