Hello,

There are several ways to determine which type of RAM you need.
The first option is by using software (such as CPUID, the BIOS, or similar tools).

The second option is to open the computer (only if you know how to do this safely).

The third option is to check the invoice or receipt, where it should be listed, for example:
4 GB SO-DIMM DDR3, 8 GB SO-DIMM DDR4, and so on.

The best option is to look it up on the official HP website, as this will also show whether the RAM is soldered to the motherboard and whether it is upgradeable, as well as the maximum supported capacity.

Let me know if you managed to figure it out.
