Hi @manasa-reddy657

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here’s a quick troubleshooting guide to help you resolve it:

1. Check Drive Permissions

The issue might be related to file permissions. You may not have the necessary permissions to create files or folders on the D drive.

How to Check and Adjust Permissions:

  1. Open File Explorer and right-click on the D drive.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Go to the Security tab.
  4. Select your user account under the Group or user names section.
  5. Under Permissions, make sure you have Full Control or at least Modify permissions.
  6. If not, click Edit, select your user, and check Full Control.
  7. Click Apply and then OK.

A corrupted user profile could be causing issues with creating folders on the D drive. You can test this by creating a new user account.

How to Create a New User Profile:

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
  2. Click Add someone else to this PC.
  3. Follow the prompts to create a new local user or Microsoft account.
  4. Sign out of your current account and sign into the new account.
  5. Try creating a folder on the D drive again. If it works, your original user profile may be corrupted.

Run System File Checker (SFC)

If there are system file corruptions affecting the D drive, running SFC can help.

How to Run SFC:

  1. Open Command Prompt (Admin) as an administrator.
  2. Type the following command and press Enter:
  3. sfc /scannow

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
