I'm trying to make a new USB that contains the HP Cloud Recovery Tool. I had made one in July of last year, but everytime I try to use it, I get at least a dozen errors, so I am trying to make a new one.

The .exe file appears in my download folder, but when I click on it to "run as administrator" it only takes me through two screens. After it asks me to accept the license, then it says "wait" and disappears and nothing further happens.

I have an empty 32GB USB in the port but it nothing is being written to it. What do I do now?

I've downloaded the HP Cloud Recovery Tool twice, they both show 4,712KB, but it doesn't accept either one.

I found an icon on my desktop for the HP Cloud Recovery Tool and checked "run as administrator" and it appears to be progressing OK. Only other problem is that in the Operating System box it shows Windows 11 and I want Windows 10 but it won't let me change it. When I go to the HP or Microsoft store, neither give me a choice of operating systems and I don't want W11 on my computer. How can I create an HP Cloud Recovery Tool that will reinstall W10?

As far as I know, the tools provides no selection options. It is SUPPOSED to create Recovery Media matching that you would have created originally from your PC, but if it does not do that, I don't believe there is anything you or we can do about that.

Others have used this, I have not, and have found it to be problematic -- perhaps one of them can provide you better guidance.

Because I couldn't get rid of the Windows 11 when trying to execute the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, I went to HP support page for my exact computer and downloaded the HPCRT for Windows 10 only, but I'm running into the same stumbling block. It gets saved in my download folder, I right click and check "run as administrator" it opens a couple of screens and after I accept the license it disappears. This is really frustrating.

Problems like this are reasons why I NEVER use built-in recovery tools -- they fail when you need them the most!

MY suspicion is like, with the option to create recovery disks, you use the tool once -- and that is it!  You can't use it again.

As I said, others here have used it so they might know differently, but I think you are not going to be able to use it.
