Hi @SUDHANSHU777,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
If you're having trouble updating Windows 11 Home 64-bit on your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 (4V9Y0AV) and encountering errors like "this update is not ready for your device" or other unspecified errors, here are several steps you can follow to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
Steps to Fix Windows Update Errors
Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Find Windows Update and click on Run.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix any update-related issues.
Clear Windows Update Cache:
- Open Command Prompt as an Administrator:
- Press Windows + X and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
Check for Disk Errors:
Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM Commands:
Ensure Enough Free Disk Space:
- Make sure your system drive (usually C:) has enough free space. Windows updates require a certain amount of space to download and install properly. Try to have at least 20-30 GB of free space available.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @SUDHANSHU777,
Disable Third-Party Antivirus Temporarily:
- Some third-party antivirus software can interfere with Windows Update. Temporarily disable your antivirus software and try running the update again.
Use Windows Update Assistant:
- Visit the Microsoft Windows 11 download page.
- Click on Download Now under Windows 11 Installation Assistant and follow the prompts to update your device.
Check for Driver Updates:
- Go to Device Manager (press Windows + X > Device Manager).
- Right-click on devices like Network adapters, Display adapters, etc., and choose Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
Perform a Clean Boot:
- Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Under the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services and click on Disable all.
- Go to the Startup tab and click on Open Task Manager. Disable all startup items.
- Restart your computer and try running Windows Update again.
Reset Windows Update Components:
Check Compatibility and Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website, enter your laptop model number, and make sure all drivers are up-to-date and compatible with Windows 11.
Tips;
- Check Microsoft's Known Issues: Sometimes, Microsoft pauses updates for certain hardware configurations. Visit the Windows 11 Release Health page to check if your device is affected.
- Reinstall Windows Update Components: If the issue persists, consider using the Media Creation Tool to perform a repair installation of Windows 11.
Following these steps should help resolve the errors you're encountering during the Windows 11 update process.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
