Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

i have issues with installing 1 driver . in device manager they are listed as unknown device... "The drivers for this device are not installed."

Regarding the HP Pavilion 15-n096sa laptop with the same issue.

After installing Windows 8.1 using a Microsoft disk and updating, Device Manager showed two uninstalled device drivers.

Checking the vendor (VEN_xxxx) and device (DEV_xxxx) in Device Manager / Properties of uninstalled device / Details tab / Property = Hardware IDs on website www.pcidatabase.com showed the following.

1. SM Bus Controller
Intel(R) 8 Series SMBus Controller
Download and run the SetupChipset.exe program from the Intel website.

(correct 2017-09-16)

2. Unknown Device
HP 3D DriveGuard or HP ProtectSmart or HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor
Download from the HP website.
