i have a hp elitebook 745 amd ryzen 3500u laptop. i need to put a dock on it for a monitor and some extra usb ports and the lan. i got a legrand type dock station and it will run the monitor and usb ports but not the lan. the device seems to be a good device and when i plugged it into another pc an alldocube all the ports on the doc worked.
i went into the bios and the ports are all checked which looks like they are being turned on. what might i be looking for on this laptop to turn the usb-c port on for lan also? when i have the lan plugged in the lights on the dock lan port lights turn on and the network hub lights turn on but it is not connecting to the network.
what might i need to post for you to see what that pc is or is not doing?

it is a g6 pc the hp elitebook 745 g6 3500u with amd ryzen the usb-c will run the usb and hdmi ports on that legrand dock but it will not do the lan. however on both the dock and the hub the lan lights are on and flashing. that kind of tells me there is traffic but the pc still shows no internet
per hp the usb-c port is a alt mode port that may not be the correct port for lan
